    Duann Scott is the founder of BITS to ATOMS, a consultancy established in 2009 to delve into design for digital fabrication and the associated business opportunities.

    His journey began with a focus on commercial applications stemming from his Ph.D. research at the University of South Australia School of Communication and School of Architecture and Design.

    While pursuing his doctoral thesis, Duann expanded his expertise by working in notable companies such as Shapeways, Autodesk, and nTopology in New York City.

    With a wealth of experience working in the additive manufacturing sector, in 2021, BITS to ATOMS transitioned into a consultancy firm aiming to drive the adoption of computational design tools and advanced manufacturing.

    Duann Scott's educational background includes a Bachelor of Industrial Design with Honors from the University of South Australia.

    Throughout his career, Duann has held diverse roles in various organizations including Executive Director at 3MF Consortium, Teaching Assistant at MIT xPRO, and Design & Application Consultant at Wohlers Associates powered by ASTM International.

    His professional journey also includes positions such as Program Advisor at APT - MIT, Digital Factory Program Lead at Formlabs, Vice President Of Business Development at nTopology, and Marketing Specialist at 3MF Consortium among others.

    Duann's experience spans across companies like Holo, Inc., Inkbit, Autodesk, Shapeways, and more, where he held roles encompassing industrial design, business development, strategic partnerships, and consultancy.

    With a rich and diverse background in the industry, Duann Scott continues to be a driving force in advancing computational design tools and pushing the boundaries of advanced manufacturing technologies.
