Dr. Valerie Jackson

Dr. Valerie D. Jackson, Ph.D., has an extensive background in clinical adolescent psychology, with a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree from Prairie View A & M University. She has over 13 years of experience in clinical work and 12 years as a college professor at various institutions including Prairie View A & M University, Lone Star College, Houston Community College, University of Houston, and Ashford University. Dr. Jackson has dedicated over 18 years to working with children in care, specializing in settings like residential treatment centers, inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, child placement agencies, and case management services. She currently serves as the Chief Strategist Officer of Initiatives for Healthy Communities, overseeing programs like L.E.A.D. Houston, which focuses on academic enrichment, behavioral health, health education, and community service for at-risk school-aged children.
