Doug Childers

Doug Childers is an accomplished optical design consultant with over 20 years of experience working in various capacities for high-profile companies like Coherent, InFocus Corporation, and BAE Systems. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Applied Optics and has designed and developed a variety of optical systems for industrial and entertainment applications, remote sensing, solar energy, and more. Mr. Childer's areas of expertise include imaging and illumination design, colorimetry and vision science, radiometric measurements, laser beam shaping, hyperspectral imaging, image processing, and pattern recognition. Currently, he is working as an Optical Design Consultant for his consulting company, Riptide Optics, LLC, and utilizing tools like Zemax, Code V, LightTools, and ASAP/APEX to develop cutting-edge designs and technologies.
