If you’re a small startup, check out Forkable for lunch! Two different, legit restaurants to order from daily. Personalized recs. Super convenient, no driver tracking. Good food just shows up consistently. I don’t think I’ve looked forward to work lunches more!
Recently learned about FOMU: Fear of Messing Up. If you’re trying to spark FOMO to sell someone on a switch — product, job, etc. — watch for FOMU sneaking in.
You might paint a picture of the possibilities when they need assurances of a safety net. You might describe how good the best case is, when they need to hear that the worst case isn’t so bad.
Perhaps more interestingly, it is worth reflecting on this for yourself when making decisions — are you being driven by FOMO or FOMU? Which one would you rather be driven by?
(Of course, being driven by something other than fear would be nice, but I don’t know of catchy acronyms for the positive counterparts of FOMO and FOMU :) Even with ChatGPT’s help :))
