Deven Nelson

Deven Nelson is a Social Entrepreneur with a passion for promoting ethical consumerism and advocating for a more just world.

Deven's personal mission is to make the world more peaceful and just, always considering the inherent dignity and worth of every person in his choices.

He was inspired to address the exploitative practices in the fashion industry and launched PeopleHeartPlanet, a platform for ethical consumers to support brands that prioritize people and the planet.

With a background in political organizing, advocacy, non-profit management, and social work, Deven has worked with various groups and individuals ranging from political refugees to elected officials.

He holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Bethel University, along with additional studies in political and economic systems, philanthropy, and voluntary service.

Deven's professional experience includes roles like Co-Founder of PeopleHeartPlanet, Consultant in Nonprofit and Civic Engagement, Development and Finance Director, Project Manager, Community Organizer, Canvass Director, and more.

His diverse roles have allowed him to engage in meaningful work with organizations like Park Avenue Youth and Family Services, Grassroots Solutions, Alaska Democratic Party, and the Minnesota Council of Churches, among others.
