Derrick Nirmalan is a highly accomplished Director, holding the prestigious designation of C.Dir and being a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD). With a Master of Science in Information Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from City, University of London, Derrick has a solid educational foundation. Derrick has a wealth of experience in the wireless communications and new technology solutions sector, having held key roles at various organizations, including Huawei Technologies, Sharp Telecommunications of Europe Ltd, Kenwood Electronics Technology Europe Ltd, and others.

He has demonstrated his capability in driving wireless communications and technology solutions at the board level. Derrick's major achievements include implementing innovative strategies to navigate challenging economic and competitor landscapes, ensuring business continuity and growth through restructuring, outsourcing, and adopting cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning in artificial intelligence, 5G, and cloud computing.

Over the course of his career, Derrick has managed Technical Development teams across multiple locations including the UK, Japan, China, and India for a decade. His expertise spans engineering delivery, business operations leadership, hardware/software design and development, specialized mobile phone technology development, and project management through the project lifecycle to product launch.
