Derek Pollard

Derek Pollard is an emeritus trustee at Richmond AI University.23 He is a highly educated individual with a PhD from the University of London and an honorary doctorate from Arcadia University in Philadelphia.1

Pollard has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career:

• Chairman of The Eric Frank Trust13
• Chairman of The Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership13
• Chief Commissioner for England of the Scout Association1
• Chairman of the Constitutions Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement1
• Member of the Board of the World Scout Foundation1

In 2010, he was awarded the Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, for exceptional services to world Scouting.1

Pollard is a Freeman of The City of London and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and The Royal Society of Arts.1 He was previously the Deputy Director of the Council for National Academic Awards and Director of Validation Services at the Open University.1

In 1996, he was awarded an OBE for services to young people.1
