Decio Ferreira

Decio Ferreira is a seasoned Architect with over 20 years of experience in various project types, from master planning to project execution and construction phases.

He is dedicated to developing and researching BIM strategies, workflows, and approaches to enhance collaboration in the architectural field.

Decio is a proficient user of BIM software, particularly Autodesk products, since 2000, with international experience in countries like Portugal, Spain, UK, Brazil, Angola, and Kuwait.

His roles as a BIM Coordinator at Ahmadiah and a BIM Manager at Quadrante - Engenharia e Consultoria S.A. in Lisbon have contributed to his extensive knowledge and international exposure.

Currently, Decio serves as a senior BIM and Design System Coordinator at Foster and Partners, utilizing his expertise in BIM processes, Revit, and Navisworks, coupled with his architectural and leadership skills, to foster collaborative work environments and resolve project challenges.

He holds certifications in 'BIM Level 2 Fundamentals' and 'BIM Level 2 BS1192-2 Project Information Manager & Task Information Management' from the BRE Academy in London.

Decio also shares his knowledge through guest lectures at academic institutions and actively teaches at Zigurat Global Institute of Technology, specializing in the International Master BIM Manager program.

As a member of the National Board of Architects (CDN) and the CT197 Task Group on BIM in Portugal, he remains engaged in industry committees and contributes to the advancement of BIM practices.
