David Harrison

David Harrison is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the DG Murray Trust, a South African foundation that focuses on early childhood development, education, and youth.123 He is a medical doctor by training and founded the Health Systems Trust (HST) in 1991, which supports health policy and services development in South Africa.1 In 2000, he completed a Master's degree in Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, before returning to South Africa to lead loveLife, a national HIV prevention program for young people.1

Since joining the DG Murray Trust in 2010, Harrison has been committed to growing South Africa's potential through various initiatives.1 He authored a book titled Harnessing the Thunder, dedicated to those who work in civil society organizations and mobilized to support families during the COVID-19 crisis.1
