Dave McCauley

Dave McCauley is a data scientist and technical project manager, with a strong background in Physics and a focus on leveraging data science and AI for positive impacts in areas like climate change mitigation and social justice.

His expertise includes a wide range of machine learning and statistical techniques such as supervised and unsupervised methods, natural language processing, ensemble models, resampling, neural networks, and more.

In terms of software skills, Dave is proficient in Python, SQL, NoSQL, various libraries and tools like sci-kit learn, Tensorflow, and Tableau, among others.

Dave holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Penn State University, complemented by a Nanodegree in Data Analysis from Udacity, and a B.S. in Physics from Miami University.

Throughout his career, Dave has held key positions such as Lead Data Scientist at Quantitative Scientific Solutions, Solutions Architect and Data Scientist at Kinetica, and various roles at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), including Technical Project Advisor and AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow.
