YBF was born in Melbourne in 2011, inside an 1850s heritage-listed space, formerly known as the York Butter Factory – that’s where YBF gets its name. And that logo of ours, it’s not a dark-hued pickle, an old-school Pac-Man ghost or a boardroom table, it’s a door. It’s the door from that very first space, the door that hundreds of technology startups, corporates and investors with bold and global ambitions have walked through over the years.

Darcy joined the Mercer investment consulting business team in May 2008 as an investment analyst.

Darcy works closely with consultants to formulate and review investment policies, assisting with asset allocation and manager selection recommendations, and is involved in performance reviews of clients' investment strategies and monitoring of managers.

As an intern, my responsibilities included various administrative functions such as reconciling expense reports and producing sales performance reports. In addition, I conducted an extensive analysis of the US branch's financials. This included a thorough review of the company’s financial health, including a ratio and credit analysis, review of the strategic positioning of the firm and a valuation of the firm’s equity using financial modeling and forecasting. These findings were ultimately presented to the firm’s CEO, management and investors.

As a Paraplanner, my responsibilities included writing statements of advice, formulating investment strategies and assessing client objectives, risk profiles, insurance needs, estate planning and tax situation. Other responsibilities included monitoring the performance of portfolios and products, maintaining the client portfolio database, technical analysis, share trading, and liaising with clients and service providers.
