    Daraja Carroll is a recent graduate of American University Washington College of Law awaiting the July 2021 bar exam results.

    She began a fellowship with the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia in September 2021.

    Daraja's educational background includes a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from American University Washington College of Law, a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from San Diego State University-California State University, and studies in Criminal Justice at Xiamen University.

    Her professional experience spans various organizations and roles, including an Access to Justice Fellow at Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia.

    She also served as a Legal Intern at the James Byrd Jr. Center to Stop Hate at the Lawyers'​ Committee for Civil Rights and as a Student Attorney at the Civil Advocacy Clinic at American University Washington College of Law.

    She has also worked as a Teaching Fellow at the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project at School Without Walls High School and as a Fellow at the Office of the Ombudsman for Public Education at D.C. State Board of Education (SBOE).

    Her experience includes a Judicial Internship at the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, and a role as a Student Admissions Representative at San Diego State University.

    Furthermore, Daraja has engaged in a program focused on Global Leadership and Diversity Identities in Santo Domingo through the CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange.
