Daniel Rothenberg
Daniel Rothenberg is a distinguished scientist in the fields of meteorology, data science, and software engineering with a particular focus on weather forecasting and analysis. He currently serves as the Chief Scientist at ClimaCell, where he leads a team to explore innovative and novel solutions for integrating micro-weather observations into large-scale diagnostic systems. Prior to his role at ClimaCell, Daniel was a research assistant and post-doctoral scholar at MIT's Center for Global Change Science and Institute for Data, Systems and Society, where he researched interactions between weather, climate, air quality, and human health using statistical and dynamical models.
Daniel's research interests extend beyond his primary roles in meteorology and climate science to global, crowd-sourced weather observation networks that could bolster numerical weather prediction and foster a weather-aware society. Additionally, he is passionate about how the democratization of data and computing resources could lead to new ways of operationalizing research technologies.
Daniel is an accomplished scholar with a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from MIT, a magna cum laude BS with honors distinction in research in Atmospheric Science from Cornell University, and a background studying at duPont Manual High School. With his expertise, publications, and experience, Daniel is an asset to ClimaCell, and he continues to revolutionize meteorological science.
