Daniel Riek

Daniel Riek is a seasoned technologist with over 25 years of experience in the Open Source business, global product management, engineering management, and product strategy. He has a strong background in leading enterprise products, global leadership roles in S&P 500 companies, sales, solution architecture, IT consulting, and management of software development teams. With a diverse management background in various company sizes and types, Daniel also has 23 years of experience in Linux administration and programming as a hobby. He has exposure to both the IT and financial industries, as well as proprietary software business.

Daniel studied Computing Science at The University of Bonn and also pursued Mathematics, German, History, and Religion at Aloisiuskolleg during his education.

Throughout his career, Daniel Riek held several key positions in renowned organizations. He served as the Tech Monkey at a Stealth Startup, held roles in the Office of the CTO at Red Hat including Special Projects, Sr. Director of Artificial Intelligence CoE, and Sr. Director of Systems Design and Engineering. Daniel also served in leadership roles as the Sr. Director of Product Management at Acronis, CTO at Vincorex AG, and Director of Product Management for Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Additionally, he was involved in Solution Architecture for Government Sales at Red Hat, managed technical operations at Alcove, and held a position on the Board of Linux Verband. Moreover, Daniel Riek founded and acted as the CEO of ID-PRO.
