Elected to SecurView’s Board of Directors in November 2018 following RAG-Stiftung (RAG Foundation), through its investment company RAG-Stiftung Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (RSBG), acquiring a majority of the shares in SecurView.  RSBG’s mission is the development of an entrepreneurially managed industrial holding company with innovative and high-growth global investments.  SecurView now a part of the RSBG family which is comprised of over 30 global companies. Leading the corporate strategy and partnership team for The Virginia Serious Game Institute (VSGI), one of four global affiliated facilities established to support early-entry entrepreneurship into the simulation and game design industry, Dan works with George Mason University and Prince William County academic and business leaders under a public-private partnership. The VSGI program centers around Simulation and Game Design creating a new gateway for simulation, modeling, game design, applied research, and company formation fostering the next generation of entrepreneurship within the industry. Executive Advisory Board 

The AWG is a working group of NIST Cybersecurity Education Committee focused on building programs that will help fill the more than 3M forecasted unfilled cybersecurity jobs in the US expected by 2020. Dan's role on the AWG is to bring his nearly 40 years of cybersecurity experience to the team to help shape, create and expand cybersecurity apprenticeships programs focused on accelerating training and certification programs resulting in more fully qualified and mission capable cybersecurity professionals entering the workforce faster than the traditional approaches are today.

Dan oversaw programming, content and curriculum of the INOVA Personal Health Accelerator. He also advises and coaches select CEO's and their teams on investment strategies, early-stage capital, building connections to strategic partners and later stage capital. In addition, he helps the companies identify customers for healthcare technology and service providers. This bespoke 1:1 approach enhances med-tech entrepreneurs’ efforts to accelerate their companies through the early stages of product design, capital formation, and commercialization is creating a foundation for a stronger healthcare ecosystem in the mid-Atlantic region.

Dan and his partner Rick Gordon founded MACH37™ as a stand-alone LLC under the Virginia Commonwealth’s Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) in 2013. MACH37 built a community of over 2000 cybersecurity professionals and made over 50 investments. As of 2022 nearly 20 of the companies were still in operation and growing.

Dan developed and managed Dell's global alliance strategies and associated programs spanning Dell's global organizational and operational teams from development, to channel sales, to marketing to services. His portfolio generated over $560M in incremental software revenue and over $3B in hardware influenced revenue. His portfolio of global alliances included: BMC; Citrix, SAP; SFDC; Oracle; and, over 30 of Dell's Security and Software Domain channel and technology partners.

While at CA Dan was responsible for setting the strategy and tactics for the global relationship between CA and Microsoft which included engineering, advanced development, marketing, technical enablement, and the creation and execution of join GTM programs between the two corporations. Navigated the relationship from one of a complete competitor to being named as Microsoft’s 2009 Global ISV Infrastructure Partner of the year. Was also responsible for realigning the two companies channel and partner organizations delivering $1.9B of partner influenced revenue, on MSFT platforms, driving over $450M in new strategic CA software revenue.

Silent Runner was a Raytheon subsidiary and evolved from state of the art security and intelligence technology created by E-Systems. Dan was responsible, as the head of marketing, to lead the organization through a product re-branding, technical refresh and with developing Other Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) relationships, industry partnerships, integrator and SI consulting and integration alliances, and technology alliances. (SilentRunner was purchased by Computer Associates International in July 2003.)

As the President of Global Integrity he led the turnaround and restructuring of GI, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAIC, resulting in the sale of the company in less than 3 years for over $107M (three times trailing revenue). Global Integrity was the premier IT cyber security consulting company with over 150 security specialists supporting 19 of the top 21 Financial Corporations in the world. While at GI he oversaw the creation and established the information sharing and analysis centers for the global financial community (FS ISAC) and IT ISAC and as the President and CEO of Global Integrity, he testified before the US Congress on Information Security Threats to the US Corporate Infrastructure. (Global Integrity was purchased by Predictive Systems in Aug 2001).

Following the creation of the Mid Atlantic IT Security practice in Washington DC, Dan was asked to establish and lead the Global Information Security Service practice's national marketing organization where he developed and implemented the practice's first technology and product partners program and created a channel organization generating over $60M in revenue with over 275 security consultants worldwide in less than two years.

Memco Software, an Israeli founded company with the US headquarters in New York, developed leading OS and Single Sign-On technology. Dan was responsible for creating the go-to-market strategy, establishing the RTM strategy and recruiting channel partners, defining the new product requirements, coordinating development objectives with market requirements, establishing technology partnerships, and developing and executing international distribution agreements. Memco IPO'd in October 1996 raising $60M and was purchased by Platinum Technologies for $500M in 1997.

Responsible for creating, negotiating and managing all security technology partnerships, collaborations and joint marketing programs for ICL’s advanced security technology products. Security product and marketing operations were located in the US, London, South Africa, Thailand, Australia, and Japan.       (ICL was acquired by Fujitsu in 1992.)
