Kristyn Dillon

Kristyn Dillon is a certified child life specialist making a difference at the Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. She graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh with a Master's Degree in Applied Developmental Psychology, with a specialization in children with special healthcare needs and child life. Before that, Dillon studied Psychology at Grove City College, instilling a wealth of knowledge, which she applies while working with children, teens, and families to minimize trauma and encourage effective coping in a developmentally appropriate manner. Dillon is a former Zumba instructor at the University of Pittsburgh and Power for Life Fitness. Before pursuing her master's degree, Kristyn Dillon had several intensive internships, one of which was a child life intern at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in Florida.

Dillon, who is based in the emergency department, is the only child life specialist at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, where she provides valuable evidence-based education, preparation, and procedural support. Her primary goal is to reduce trauma and help families and children overcome challenging situations. Before joining Inova Health Systems, Kristyn Dillon implemented her child healthcare and development expertise as a Therapeutic Staff Support at Glade Run Lutheran Services and a Youth Director at Holiday Park United Methodist Church.
