Voice Analyst (Remote)

Provide in-depth knowledge of video collaboration, live streaming, and O365 test tenant configuration in order to provide the best possible user experiences. Design systems for resiliency and redundancy across the enterprise to ensure availability of services. Mentor colleagues to configure systems and services to maintain consistency of support. Work with colleagues on the IS Security Team, Server Team, Network Architecture/Engineering Team, and Risk Management, to evaluate future and existing technologies to keep our environment secure and performing well. These items are in addition to the responsibilities below.

Sr. Multimedia Specialist (Infrastructure)

Technical lead for enterprise video collaboration and streaming. Manage Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS), Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) for Video, WebEx Video Mesh, Expressway Core & Edge, WebEx Directory Connector (AD integration), and local and cloud registered video endpoints. Test and integrate new Poly Studio X50 and G7500 endpoints on O365 tenant with Microsoft Teams, Poly RealConnect and One-Touch-Dial (OTD). Work with vendors, internal customers, and colleagues across the enterprise to provide a top-tier video experience for all users. Work with colleagues in network architecture and engineering on internal multicast for H.264 and HEVC (H.265) streaming for system-wide communications and public communications out to parents across a patient base of 4.76+ million. Successfully piloted and implemented an enterprise-wide instance of Ramp OmniCache with Microsoft Steam to create an internal streaming environment which will not tax internal internet connections, simultaneously streaming to over 4,000 associates both on- and off-site, using adaptive bit-rate streaming to minimize network load while maintaining high quality. Work with local AV vendor to manage room technology upgrades to ensure a consistent and happy experience across all meeting spaces. Manage IPTV throughout the hospital and troubleshoot any issues that occur, including within patient rooms. Moved hundreds of in-person meetings to WebEx within days due to COVID-19 pandemic. Authored a USDA-RUS-DLT grant application to upgrade distance education at the hospital and rural satellite pediatric primary and specialty care clinics to maintain top-tier education and communication of timely pandemic information. Setup and manage all COVID-19 specific webinars to communicate timely information to parents for the safety of their children, along with population specific webinars for at-risk families and parents of children with special healthcare needs.

Multimedia Specialist (Infrastructure)

Provide expertise and excellent service to customers for IT, AV, and video collaboration. Manage onsite video collaboration in conjunction with counterparts in Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL, and Pensacola, FL. As part of a geographically distributed team, manage TelePresence infrastructure (TMS, MCU, Conductor, VCS) and WebEx collaboration system-wide. Participate as a team member to create the “room of the future” concept design for the hospital, to include new video collaboration hardware, wireless screen sharing, and improve the user experience. Work with our primary AV vendor to complete maintenance and repair of meeting spaces. Design custom solutions for large events to broadcast them to remote sites to make all associates feel like part of the onsite team. Provide experience and expertise to the enterprise configuration management team in architecting the new Mac systems management solution for the hospital system. Troubleshoot IPTV and GetWell displays and connectivity in all patient locations of the hospital to maintain a high standard of satisfaction.

Multimedia Specialist (Support)

Architect and engineer entire Cisco TelePresence infrastructure and endpoints (TMS/TMSXE/TCS/MCU/VCS, C/EX/SX series, Jabber, custom clinical dental carts, and video-capable surgical microscopes), lecture capture, regional/worldwide WebEx calls (via computers & endpoints), plus all scheduling, administration, and maintenance. Manage all classroom and conference room technology, all AV troubleshooting and management. Authored multiple USDA-RUS-DLT grants (Distance Learning & TeleMedicine) with funding totaling over $1.4 million, and total project budgets exceeding $1.87 million. Projects covered the purchase of hardware for TelePresence, A/V, and intra-oral telemedicine components at our central location and rural dental clinics where care is provided to the underserved. Manage TelePsychiatry video endpoints and conduct testing with hospitals across North Carolina to provide remote psychiatric services. Support faculty, staff, and student computers using JAMF Pro, and manage mobile devices and software packages to scoped Active Directory groups. Create policies to install software, printers, etc, and provide support via JAMF Remote & Apple Remote Desktop. Package software using Composer and maintain version tracking. Learned the Wolfram programming language in Mathematica to create layered GIS maps for data visualization of patient numbers, locations, geographic layout, travel distance, and density. Budget collaboration, expenditure tracking, and project management. Inspect rural clinical building during construction phase to ensure compliance with IT needs (data + power). Manage entire Prox card system using Honeywell WinPAK software to create, track, and print identity cards for access to rural clinic buildings and patient records. Teach photography concepts and skills to Dental Residents and Pre-Doctoral students to establish baseline skills and a “license to learn.”

Systems Engineer

Managed Smart Classroom computing at Evanston and Chicago campuses using multiple open-source and commercial applications on  dual-boot Mac Minis. Setup system to deploy Mac & Windows images on-demand, including package management (managed Windows packages via Symantec Altiris). Administered OpenCast Matterhorn project at NU, including server setup and custom linux machine builds and deployment. Connected regional and international video conferences for stakeholders in Evanston and Chicago. Surveyed university faculty for end of semester satisfaction and classroom technology training. Ordered all learning space related hardware from research, to quote, to receipt and installation. Collaborated on fiscal year budget requests and tracked annual expenditures related to learning space technology.

Northwestern University

Managed the Technology in the Classroom program, supporting ~240 registrar classrooms with computers and audience response. Supported hundreds of faculty, found innovative technology to drive teaching and learning, co-authored RFP for the Purdue Mobile Learning Initiative, and  managed classroom computer inventory. Presented annually to Learning Spaces Operations and discussed latest classroom technology trends and capabilities, and answered questions. Attended and presented at multiple conferences. Managed all technology for multiple on-campus conferences as team leader, ensuring high quality service and immediate support for all presenters and attendees. Managed technology preparation, audience response, and support for during a healthcare conference hosted by the President’s office gathering over 25 CEOs from some of the most respected companies across the United States.

Learning Spaces Analyst

Supported multi-OS networked computers in US-DoE sponsored particle physics research for the CMSfpix (Compact Muon Solenoid Forward Pixel Detector Assembly) and CDF (Collider Detector at Fermilab) research groups. Created and managed web-based database application (PHP & MySQL) for silicon wafer production and testing. Supported video conferencing for world-wide collaboration efforts using software- and hardware-based Polycom H.323 system. Created software to generate graphs from electrical testing data to maintain integrity. Performed specialized close-up photography of silicon wafers for collaboration.
