Anne Skates is an accomplished Investment Partner at Andreessen Horowitz on their consumer team. With extensive experience in seed stage investing and a background in venture-backed startups, Anne's interests lie in the future of the built world, commerce and retail, social, marketplaces, and gen-Z trends. Anne's journey started as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, after which she joined two venture-backed startups in product and user experience roles. Prior to becoming an investor, Anne pursued a degree in Math Economics and Finance at Princeton, where she also founded two student organizations and started her first failed startup. Interestingly, Anne is also a highly skilled violinist, who performed a solo at the Grammy Awards in 2007, making her the youngest classical musician to do so in history.
