Alexandre Casta Ruiz

Alexandre Casta Ruiz is the current CEO at UPF Ventures, an innovation management company focused on enhancing technology transfer and translational innovation.

With a background as an Investment Manager at Caixa Capital Risc, entrepreneur in the biotechnology sector, project manager of international projects, and a keen interest in innovation management and the business aspects of technological research, Alexandre brings a wealth of experience to the table.

He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Columbia University and an MBA from IESE Business School, complementing his educational journey that includes studying Business at the University of Cambridge, Master of Business Administration from IESE Business School, Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Biology from Columbia University, and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

His expertise spans across various domains including venture capital, entrepreneurship, tech transfer, valuation of technology-based companies, project management, business administration, technology-based companies, drug development, biochemistry, molecular biology, international cooperation projects, and business development.

Throughout his career, Alexandre has held key positions at different organizations including being the Chief Executive Officer at UPF Ventures, Investment Manager in Life Sciences at Caixa Capital Risc, Responsable de Transferencia de Tecnología e Innovación at Biocat in the Bioregion of Catalonia, Director de Proyectos at Biocat, Project Manager at Fundació Bosch i Gimpera, Co-Fundador Y Chief Executive Officer at Radismed, Consultant at Advancell Advanced In Vitro Cell Technology, and other roles at renowned institutions like Columbia University and Institut de Recerca Oncològica.
