Crystal Cooper is a dedicated microbiologist, currently employed at the Central Analytical Research Facility (CARF) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), where her primary focus is on electron microscopy research.
Her academic journey includes a Master's degree in Zoological Science specializing in characterizing flatworms on coral reefs, followed by a Ph.D. in Parasitology and Electron Microscopy from the University of Western Australia, in collaboration with Murdoch University.
During her doctoral studies, Crystal focused on studying the biology, evolutionary relationships, and host-parasite interactions of local Australian Trypanosoma species, showcasing her expertise in electron and confocal microscopy, as well as cell, parasite, and molecular biology.
