Azdiar Gazder
Senior Research Fellow, UOW Electron Microscopy Centre
Azdiar Gazder is a Senior Research Fellow at the UOW-EMC, where he initiated and participated in the design and implementation of various projects. With a specialization in physical metallurgy, his expertise lies in electron microscopy, crystallography, modeling, code development, and engineering. His research primarily focuses on thermo-mechanically processed steels, Cu, Al, Ti, Mg, and shape memory alloys, emphasizing crystal phase-microstructure-property relationships through a blend of polycrystalline self-consistent modeling, experimental validation, and code development. His academic accomplishments include over 80 scientific publications. Gazder is a Certified Materials Professional of Materials Australia, a Fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society, an Executive Member of the Australian Microbeam Analysis Society, a University of Wollongong Senate Member, and the Deputy Chair of the Australian Institute for Innovative Materials - Research & Training Committee.
