Ciara Walton

Ciara Walton is a highly experienced diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) professional with a passion for social justice and community empowerment. Originally from Florida, she now resides in New York City and currently serves as the Director of DEI at The Legal Aid Society. With an educational background in health sciences and public administration, Ciara has worked in a variety of roles advocating for high-quality education, disability rights, and broader social justice issues. Her extensive experience in grassroots organizing and policy activism has made her a leading voice in the movement to bring equity and inclusivity to the workplace, schools, and communities across the United States.

At the Legal Aid Society, Ciara is responsible for implementing comprehensive DEI strategies across all aspects of the organization, partnering with the Chief Human Resource Officer, Practice Executives, and other staff to build a culture of diversity and inclusivity. Her accomplishments include conducting listening tours to assess organizational needs, partnering with the Board to create intercultural development spaces that promote organizational values, and developing training programs that promote DEI strategies. Ciara is also the Founder & Principal Consultant of The Cultural Architects, LLC and serves as the Third Vice President of the NAACP's Brooklyn Branch. In addition to being a dedicated DEI professional, Ciara is an avid reader, traveler, and volunteer.
