Christy Ashkettle is the Director of Community Engagement at NEXT Upstate, a role she has held since November 2020. She began her career with NEXT Upstate in September 2014, contributing significantly to community initiatives and entrepreneurship in the Upstate region of South Carolina.
Born on July 25, 1980, in Bloemfontein, South Africa, Christy moved to the United States in March 2009 and became a U.S. citizen on June 11, 2020. Her educational background includes attending the University of South Africa in Johannesburg. Throughout her tenure at NEXT, she has been instrumental in fostering community relationships and supporting local entrepreneurs, notably leading a successful virtual Venture Pitch Conference during the COVID-19 pandemic.12
Christy's leadership and community engagement efforts have established her as a respected figure within the Greenville area, further enhanced by her graduation from Leadership Greenville's Class 46 in 2020.1
