Christopher McGuire

Christopher McGuire is a prominent figure in the classical guitar community, serving as the President and Artistic Director of the Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society (FWCGS) since its inception in 1995. He is also the founder and Artistic Director of the Allegro Guitar Society, which operates under the FWCGS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
McGuire has an extensive performance background, having given over 1,500 solo concerts across various countries, including the United States, Mexico, and Japan. His performance style has been praised for its expressive qualities, and he has shared the stage with notable musicians such as Van Cliburn and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has also been involved in community outreach, presenting more than 2,500 performances at schools and other venues.
In addition to his performance career, McGuire has a rich teaching history, having taught at the collegiate level for 25 years at institutions like the University of Dallas and North Lake College. He has conducted masterclasses at prestigious schools, including Juilliard and Arizona State University, and has served as a judge for international guitar competitions.
His musical education includes studying under renowned guitarists such as Andrés Segovia, and he has received full scholarships to Southern Methodist University and the Aspen Music Festival.
