Chief Marketing Officer at The Peabody Awards

Oversee the creation and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications program which serves to strengthen the brand and enhance Peabody’s reputation among the media industry. Establish brand presence, enhance user experience, and oversee creative across all communication channels.  Develop opportunities for communication of the brand to broaden audience awareness among consumers and industry. Identify and develop program sponsorships and strategic alliances that will extend the Peabody brand in the community and increase avenues of support and interest. 

Supervision of creative staff which includes web/social, communications, public relations, video production and image management. Oversee the development and execution of social media strategy that provides audience analysis, opportunities among the different social channels, short and long term plans, resource recommendations and measurement targets.

Chief Marketing Officer

Oversee the consumer marketing campaigns designed to drive awareness and ratings for key programming priorities for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies. Initiatives include TNT’s The Last Ship, Dallas, The Closer, Rizzoli & Isles, Falling Skies, TBS’ Cougar Town, Conan, TCM’s 31 Days of Oscar, The History of Hollywood. Lead strategy for marketing initiatives including brand development and management, partnerships and sponsorships, and creative development.  

As VP of Marketing, developed and communicated the strategy for Turner’s social media approach and created a team of social media experts and community managers to implement it.   Supervised social team to create and build engagement with social communities (over 50MM fans), identify emerging technologies and integrate social media across all marketing disciplines and within marketing campaigns.  Led breakthrough and award winning digital campaigns that dramatically increased fan base and grew engagement for the brand. 

Responsible for overseeing effective media strategies and managing media budgets to reach and engage consumers for each network campaign/initiative.  Developed, led and inspired a large marketing team to create an environment that fosters creativity, autonomy and collaboration while ensuring that marketing activities are holistic and on strategy.  Responsible for building partnerships /alliances with other brands to further strategy of networks and reach audiences in unique and unexpected ways.

Turner Broadcasting

Vice President of Entertainment Marketing, TBS, TNT, TCM

As Director of Brand, relaunched TBS network as a destination for comedy.  Analyzed consumer mindset and competitive landscape to identify new positioning opportunities.  Led Publicis ad agency in creating new look and launching creative campaign around the idea of TBS as the headquarters of funny.  (Awards: Effie, Cannes Lion Silver, Clio Gold, Top 10 Campaign of the Year by Ad Age & Creativity.)  Other accomplishments include: (i) the creation of reach driving partnerships and promotions that increased awareness and solidified the positioning of the TBS, TNT and TCM brands (including consumer promotions with Sierra Mist, Parker Brothers, Baskin Robbins, Hyatt Hotels); (ii) partnered with HBO to launch first annual Comedy Festival in Las Vegas which brought together the biggest names in comedy and helped reinforce TBS positioning among trade, talent and consumers; (iii) created new ad sales sponsorship opportunities that built off the brand attributes and generated incremental revenue for the network.  Additionally, responsible for analyzing and monitoring brand health- including consumer insights, brand trends, and competitive activity.

Director of Brand Development

Developed business plan for driving incremental revenue through merchandising and licensing, e-commerce, retail development and brand extensions of Turner Entertainment’s brands and properties.  Defined strategy for each property and successfully exploited the brand’s assets generating profit and exposure.  Directed agency to develop extensive brand style guide and graphic packaging to create a clear brand identity for licensees to use.  Identified, evaluated and managed B2B partnerships and alliances.

Senior Manager, New Business Development

Created and implemented annual marketing and media plans for TBS priority programming.  Managed off-channel advertising (print, TV, outdoor and radio) and provided strategic direction and oversaw agencies responsible for producing the creative.
