Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School

Christa Haase is a highly skilled physical chemist turned biomedical engineer with a strong focus on integrating spatial transcriptomics approaches with in vivo imaging to discover novel therapeutic targets for acute myeloid leukemia.

Her research interests extend to developing innovative optical technologies to investigate the interaction between stem cells and their microenvironment, particularly exploring how this relationship is altered during the aging process and in cases of malignant transformation.

Christa Haase holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physical Chemistry and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry, both from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich. She also completed her Master thesis in Analytical Chemistry at Stanford University and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich.

Currently, she serves as a Research Fellow at the MGH / HMS Wellman Center for Photomedicine, where she continues to make significant contributions to the fields of biomedical engineering and cancer research.
