Chris van den Hooven

Chris van den Hooven is a seasoned aviation professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry.1 He currently serves as the Senior Vice President, Americas for Cathay Pacific Airways, a role he has held since October 2020.1 In this position, he is responsible for creating and implementing the overall regional vision, strategy, and business plans for the Americas region in line with the company's functional strategy and policy.1

Prior to his current role, van den Hooven held several other leadership positions at Cathay Pacific Airways1:

• Country Manager for Germany, Switzerland & Scandinavia (June 2018 - October 2020)
• Country Manager for Italy (July 2017 - June 2018)
• Country Manager for Vietnam (August 2014 - July 2017)
• General Manager for Western Canada (November 2001 - August 2014)

He began his career with Cathay Pacific as an Account Executive for the Prairie Region (Alberta, Saskatchewan, & Manitoba) from November 1990 to April 1995.1 Van den Hooven also worked as a Reservation Sales Agent for Cathay Pacific in Vancouver from August 1987 to June 1990 and for Canadian Airlines International from April 1986 to August 1987.1

Van den Hooven holds a Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a Marketing Management degree from the University of Calgary.1 He is also a Certified Practitioner of Human-Centered Design, a certification he obtained from LUMA Institute in September 2020.1
