Coding school pushes envelope on tech access inside prisons - Axios

The Last Mile program is designed to train selected incarcerated individuals high demand skills for eventual employment in paid internship programs within the technology sector. The goal is to reduce recidivism and create a bridge between the penal system and the technology sector. The Last Mile has become the most requested prison education program in the United States, with programs in California, Indiana, Oklahoma, Michigan, Kansas, North Dakota and Montana. The goal is to be in 50 classrooms and 14 states by the end of 2024.
