Chip Giller
Chip Giller is a prominent American journalist and environmentalist, best known as the founder of Grist, an influential online environmental news organization established in 1999. His vision for Grist was to create a platform that presented environmental issues in a more engaging and accessible manner, countering the often serious and somber tone associated with environmental journalism.12
Education and Early Career
Giller graduated with an honors degree in environmental studies from Brown University. Before founding Grist, he worked as a reporter for High Country News and served as an editor at Greenwire, where he gained valuable experience in environmental journalism. He has also been involved with various journalism fellowships, including the Institutes for Journalism and Natural Resources.13

Current Role
As of now, Chip Giller continues to be involved with Grist as a creative officer and board member while also co-founding Agog: The Immersive Media Institute, which focuses on innovative storytelling in the climate space.35 He resides in the Seattle area with his family.1
