    Cheryl Forster, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist and intercultural trainer who founded Bookmark Connections in 2012.1 She is an Asian-American woman and Korean transracial and transnational adoptee.1 Dr. Forster holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Pacific University and a master's degree in applied developmental psychology from Tufts University.1

    Currently, Dr. Forster serves as the Coordinator of Diversity and Psychology Programs at Portland State University's Center for Student Health and Counseling, a position she has held since 2004.13 Through Bookmark Connections, she provides intercultural workshops, trainings, and assessments for mental health professionals, organizations, and educational institutions.2

    Dr. Forster has extensive training in intercultural communication, having completed over 800 hours of advanced intercultural education.1 She earned an advanced-level Intercultural Practitioner Certificate from the Intercultural Communication Institute in 2014.1 Additionally, she is a CQ Certified Facilitator through the Cultural Intelligence Center and has completed the Japan Intercultural Institute's Brain, Mind & Culture Masterclass Certification.1

    Her professional interests include stress, trauma, attachment from an interpersonal neurobiology perspective, and supervision and training.1 Dr. Forster is a contributing author to The SAGE Encyclopedia of Intercultural Competence (2015) and has served on the board of the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies (ACCTA).14
