Charlotte Ancel

Charlotte Ancel is the Vice President Regulatory at Avangrid. She oversees regulatory, policy, and gross margin teams for Avangrid utilities, including NYSEG, RG&E, Central Maine Power, UI, and Berkshire Gas, serving 3.3 million customers. Ancel leads a team of 80+ members, managing regulatory strategy, development, ratemaking, revenue requirements, rate design, tariff implementation, policy, and gross margin analysis.

Previously, Charlotte was the Vice President at ChargePoint, handling utility partnerships, business strategies, and electric vehicle charging partnerships in North America and Europe. Before that, she led clean energy strategy for Eversource Energy, focusing on developing and implementing clean energy investments for 4 million customers across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Ancel successfully led projects like developing 70 MW of battery storage and the largest EV charging network outside California.

Before her role at Eversource, Charlotte served as an officer at Green Mountain Power, overseeing a $300 million power supply portfolio, renewable generation acquisitions, and retail rate-setting. She notably increased the renewability of the power supply portfolio from 20% to 60% while exploring new tech like battery storage and heat pumps. Ancel also worked as a partner at the law firm Sheehey Furlong & Behm, specializing in energy law and obtaining regulatory approvals for significant projects in Vermont.

In terms of education, Charlotte Ancel earned a BA in English, Magna Cum Laude from Boston College, graduated top of her class with a JD from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law, and attended Kent School and Chase Collegiate School.
