Charlie Dorn
Graduate Student - Middle School Math Education
Charlie Dorn is a coach with significant experience in the Minnetonka High School Basketball Program. He is currently entering his 8th season of coaching with the program, serving as the 10th Grade Coach.1 Previously, he has held positions as the 9A Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach within the program.1
Dorn is a proud alumnus of Minnetonka High School, graduating as part of the class of 2008.1 After high school, he attended Boston College, where he pursued a degree in Economics and Communications. During his time at BC, Dorn worked as a Student Manager for the Men's Basketball team, gaining valuable coaching experience under renowned coaches Al Skinner and Steve Donahue.1
Following his undergraduate studies, Dorn returned to the Twin Cities to earn a Master's in Education from the University of St. Thomas.1 He currently works as a Middle School Math Teacher at Minnetonka Middle School East, in addition to his coaching responsibilities.12
Dorn's coaching philosophy emphasizes not only developing players' basketball skills but also instilling qualities such as dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and hard work.1 His passion for coaching at his alma mater and contributing to a high-level program is evident in his long-standing commitment to Minnetonka basketball.
In addition to his high school coaching duties, Dorn is also involved with coaching at the travel level.1 His LinkedIn profile indicates that he has been serving as the Head Coach for the Minnetonka Boys Basketball Association since September 2012, a position he has held for over 12 years.3
