Charlene Wu holds a Ph.D. in Psychology; Neuroscience and a Master's Degree in Psychology from Stanford University. She also studied Economics and Psychology at both the University of California, Los Angeles, and The University of Hong Kong.
Currently, Charlene Wu serves as the Director of Human-Centered AI at Toyota Research Institute. She previously held positions such as Strategic Advisor at Stitch Fix, Advisor at Anomalie - Pro-Bride Wedding Dresses, and Senior Manager in Machine Assisted Cognition at Toyota Research Institute.
Her professional journey includes roles like Staff Behavioral Research Scientist, Behavioral Science Lead at Airbnb, Head of Uber Labs (Behavioral Data Science) at Uber, and Research & Design Consultant at PERTS. Charlene also has experience as a Research Consultant at W. W. Norton & Company, Inc., Graduate Teaching Fellow at Stanford University, and Post-Baccalaureate Research Fellow in Affective Cognitive Neuroscience at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). She started her research career as a Research Assistant & Honors Thesis Student at UCLA.
