Chalya Lar is a Global Health Professional with a wealth of experience in leading various USAID and other donor-funded projects focusing on areas like Disease Prevention, Environmental Health, Family Planning, and HIV/AIDS.

With a strong background in Advocacy, Budgeting and Financial Management, Capacity building, Communication and Knowledge Management, Leadership, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL), and Program Planning and Implementation, Chalya has successfully overseen multi-million dollar projects aimed at improving health services quality in communities affected by AIDS.

Chalya has led projects such as the $40 million MEL project involving over 500 Site Improvement through Monitoring Systems Assessments and a $10 million capacity building project benefiting youth, widows, and Orphans and Vulnerable Children impacted by AIDS.

Apart from disease control and health promotion, Chalya also shows interest in early childhood education and micro enterprise development, reflecting a well-rounded approach towards community well-being.

With a medical degree from the University of Jos and an MPH from the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Chalya Lar brings a strong academic foundation to the table.

Having held key roles such as Chief of Party for significant projects like the USAID PEPFAR Site Improvement Monitoring Systems Project and the Winrock International Capacity Building AIM Project, Chalya Lar has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in the public health sector.

Chalya Lar's professional journey also includes serving as an Epidemiologist at the Baltimore City Health Department, where tracking health trends and analyzing data were integral parts of the role.
