SUMMER STOCK THEATRE
Established in 1946, this program, in Custer State Park, sells 17,000 admissions each season, employs 50 - 60 creative professionals from all over the country and provides employment training and networking opportunities for artists. 

DAKOTA PLAYERS TOURING CHILDREN'S THEATRE
This children's theatre company, designed to develop creative and empowered K-12 learners, tours the Midwest and serves kids K-12. Up to 55 students in each community can be cast in a musical with costumes, lights, and sound or in technical roles helping with sound, lights, and stage management. Two professional actor/directors travel to 40+ locations annually teaching theatre. Original plays are written and music created by professional artists from the Midwest.

SUMMER CAMPS
The BHP creates the artistic curriculum for three sleep-away performing arts camps each summer. Two camps happen at Placerville Camp in the Black Hills for kids in grades 5th - 7th and 8th - 12th.  These camps field trip to the Black Hills Playhouse to see a performance and interact with the theatre professionals who work there. The third camp, Camp Bravo, is a collaboration with the LifeScape Center for the Arts in East River. This camp is an all-ability camp, inclusive of kids with disabilities.

EXPANDING STAGE PROGRAMS
The BHP partners with DakotAbilities and the LifeScape Center for the Arts on productions inclusive of adults and children with disabilities. DakotAbilities participants attend nine weeks of classes that lead to performance three times a year.  The LifeScape Center for the Arts does large-scale productions on the Augustana University stage.

BHP CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS
5% of the operating budget of the BHP Campus is dedicated to building repair & maintenance each year as mandated by the SD Legislature. Since 2011 the BHP has accomplished over just over $1.5 in capital improvements, leveraging innovative relationships to strengthen and preserve this South Dakota cultural treasure.

Executive Director

The Dahl Arts Center is a community center dedicated to bringing art and creativity to residents and visitors to Rapid City, South Dakota.  The Rapid City Arts Council is charged by the City of Rapid City to manage the Dahl and works to provide arts programming and foster innovative partnerships to bring art and people together. Linda led the Rapid City Arts Council during the expansion phase of the Dahl Arts Center working with a team of dedicated folks to complete the $7.5 million dollar city-owned center.

Linda served as a conduit between the board, staff and public to create strategy and raise funds for mission activities.
