Christian Dannecker

Christian Dannecker is the Director of Global Sourcing at South Pole and also holds the position of Director at South Pole's Colombia office, where he focuses on CO2 mitigation project sourcing with an emphasis on nature-based solutions, community, REDD+, and restoration projects funded by carbon markets and environmental services payments.

He earned a M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from ETH Zurich and is additionally known for founding Fundación Magnolios Colombia.

Christian Dannecker's expertise includes carbon markets, landscape restoration, nature-based solutions, REDD+, the Colombian Carbon Tax, reforestation, carbon project finance, the Australian Emission Reduction Fund, offsets, insetting, developing deforestation-free supply chains, and working with endemic Magnolia trees.

Throughout his career, he has been in various roles at South Pole, from Executive Director of Global Projects to Director of Forestry, and has also served in positions at organizations like Naturere Capital Ag, Ecosecurities, and Seecon GmbH.
