Catherine Ray
Mathematician
Catherine Ray is an accomplished computational physicist, mathematician, and software engineer. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computational Science/Physics from George Mason University, and also studied Mathematics and Physics at Mary Baldwin College. With an impressive track record of internships, research assistantships, and visiting researcher positions, Catherine's expertise is diverse and expansive. She has worked at organizations such as the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, Santa Fe Institute, and George Mason University, where she conducted research in fields such as computational physics, robotics, and semantics. Catherine has also worked in various software engineering roles, including as a Software Engineering Intern at Cloudera. Her unique skillset also includes her work as a Mouse Vocalization Specialist and Audio Processing Engineer at Mousera, as well as an Assistive Tech Independent Researcher at Assistive Tech R&D. Catherine also served as a Teaching Assistant for College Algebra at Mary Baldwin College, Mathematics Dept. She is a former Thiel Fellow at The Thiel Foundation and a Human-Computer Interaction Intern at George Washington University Robotics Lab: Positronics Division.
