Cassidy Gallegos
Assistant Director, Mental Health & Wellness
Cassidy Gallegos is the Assistant Director of Mental Health & Wellness at Boston College. She holds a master's degree in mental health counseling and is a licensed professional counselor candidate in Colorado.4
Gallegos has a strong background in mental health advocacy and support, particularly in university settings. During her time as a student at Boston College, she was involved with To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), a nonprofit organization aimed at providing hope and help for people struggling with addiction, depression, self-injury, and suicide. As the president of TWLOHA's BC chapter, she worked to start conversations about mental health on campus.1
After completing her education, Gallegos provided psychotherapy to NCAA D1 collegiate student-athletes at Boston College.3 In July 2021, she transitioned into her current role as Assistant Director of Mental Health and Wellness in the Center for Student Wellness at Boston College.5
Gallegos is passionate about destigmatizing mental health issues and promoting open conversations about mental wellness. She has written openly about her own experiences with mental health struggles, including suicidal ideation, in an effort to connect with and support others who may be facing similar challenges.2
In her professional capacity, Gallegos is involved in organizing events and initiatives to promote mental health awareness and support on campus. For example, she has been involved in coordinating events like "Songs & Stories: An evening of hope and conversation" at Boston College.6
