Carl Gronquist is a highly skilled professional in the field of image collection curation, digital asset management, and image workflow optimization. With extensive experience in metadata and keyword evaluation, creative team project management, image copyright, image vendor management, photographer and artist recruitment, and contract negotiation, Carl has proven his expertise in various facets of the industry.

Known for his exceptional collaborative skills, Carl has successfully led multiple teams of photo editors and digital content production personnel. He has established strong working relationships with top photographers and specialized photography agencies on a global scale.

Carl boasts specialist knowledge in a wide range of subjects including Science & Technology, Travel & Culture, Nature & Wildlife, Medicine, Industry, Agriculture, Architecture, Historical Photography, Public Domain collections, and Fine Art. His technical proficiency includes working on both Mac and Windows platforms, utilizing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge), MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP Business Objects reporting tools, and digital asset management systems.

Having pursued an MFA in Photography from the University of Colorado Boulder and a BFA in Photography from Colorado State University, Carl Gronquist has a strong academic foundation complementing his practical experience.

Carl currently serves as a Consultant and Owner at Freeheel Creative, LLC. Prior to this role, he held key positions at Corbis, including Director of Photography, Editorial Director, Managing Editor, and Photography Editor.
