Kathryn Hing is a highly accomplished and skilled design expert with a passion for education and community building. Based in Berlin, she currently serves as the Design Lead at HIER Foods, where she leads a team of designers working on innovative food projects. Prior to this, she worked as the Head of Design at IDAGIO, the world's leading classical music streaming platform, where she oversaw the design team and worked to improve the user experience of the platform.

Kathryn has a strong educational background, having studied at top design schools in Australia, France, and the Netherlands. She holds a Master's degree in Strategic Product Design Engineering from Delft University of Technology, where she won the Royal Haskoning DHV (First in Class) award and received an honorable mention at the Crystal Cabin Awards for Excellence in the Aviation Industry. Her experience also includes work with philanthropic organizations such as India's SMV Wheels and the Netherlands' largest sharing economy platform Share NL, where she co-created Human-Centered Design (HCD) projects.

Kathryn is an active member of the design community and has been involved in various organizations and initiatives over the years. She is a former Berlin Chapter Coordinator at Interaction Design Association (IxDA), where she built a community of over 3,000 designers. She is also a coach at Berlin's Service Design Jam, a panelist for mobility expertise, and was a Creative Jam Judge at Adobe. Kathryn's expertise spans across industries, having worked at COUP Mobility GmbH, an electric scooter sharing company owned by Robert Bosch GmbH, and Volkswagen Group Services GmbH, where she digitalized and innovated the automotive industry.

Kathryn is passionate about advocating for underrepresented groups in design, and her advice is open to all but especially for women, the black community, indigenous people, and people of color. She encourages designers to add a message when reaching out to her, so she can have some context.
