    Byron Auguste is a distinguished economist known for his impactful work in addressing market failures and unlocking the full potential of individuals in the labor market.

    Having served as the Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council during his tenure at the White House, Auguste was inspired to launch Opportunity@Work in 2015, a venture aimed at bridging the gap between untapped talent and rewarding opportunities.

    His academic background includes earning a DPhil. and MPhil. in Economics from the University of Oxford, as well as a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yale University.

    Auguste has held notable positions such as CEO & Co-founder at Opportunity@Work, Independent Board Director at Reinvent Technology Partners, Research Fellow at Autodesk, and Co-founder of Opportunity@Work at New America among others.

    He has also contributed his expertise as a former Director (Senior Partner) at McKinsey & Company, Lecturer in International Trade and Finance at the University of Oxford, and Research Economist at LMC International Ltd.

    Fueled by a passion to rewire the U.S. labor market and empower individuals through alternative pathways to success, Auguste and his team at Opportunity@Work strive to enable 1 million working adults to fulfill their potential, ultimately aiming for a $20 billion increase in annual earnings.
