Bryan J. Rollins

Bryan J. Rollins is a Climate Tech Operator-in-Residence at Grok Ventures (Grokco), a position he has held since October 2020.3 He is a former entrepreneurial technologist with a strong background in founding companies and working in new technology ventures.

Career Highlights

• Atlassian: Rollins served as the first General Manager at Atlassian, responsible for the Jira business unit and later the Server business unit, which represented about two-thirds of Atlassian's revenue during his tenure.4

• Silicon Valley and Austin: He has been a founder and Head of Product in early-stage technology companies, with two successful exits through acquisitions by Cisco and Dell.4

Climate Change Advocacy

Rollins became passionate about climate change relatively late in his career. A transformative five-month trip to South America, where he witnessed the effects of climate change firsthand, sparked his interest in environmental issues.1 This experience led him to shift his focus towards climate tech and sustainability.

Current Work

At Grok Ventures, Rollins works with founders of clean tech companies to help them scale and grow.1 He is particularly interested in technologies that address major sources of carbon emissions, such as food waste and agriculture.4

As of January 2025, Rollins is also working alongside Climate 200 to support the election of pro-climate independent candidates.2
