Brian Byrnes

Brian Byrnes is a highly educated individual with a diverse academic background. He studied Studies and Theology at Aquinas Institute, BA in Philosophy at St. Meinrad College, MA and MPhil in Musicology at New York University, and M.Mus. in Early Music Performance and Musicology at New England Conservatory of Music. Brian Byrnes also studied Studies in Music at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Brian Byrnes has held various leadership roles in different organizations. He is the Founder and Guiding Teacher at Bread Loaf Mountain Zen Community. Previously, he served as the Vice Abbot at Upaya Zen Center, President and CEO at Santa Fe Community Foundation, Interim Executive Director at Chez Panisse Foundation, Managing Director at Tides Foundation, President and CEO at Vermont Community Foundation, Deputy Director of Programs at San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Education Director at AIDS Action Committee, and Public Information Manager and Director of Prevention at Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
