Professor/Author researching learning in the metaverse
Brian G. Burton, Ed.D., is a prominent figure in the field of education and digital media, currently serving as a Charter Member of the Higher Education Video Game Alliance since January 2015. He is an Associate Professor at Abilene Christian University (ACU), where he leads the Digital Entertainment Technology degree program, which has been recognized as a top game development program by the Princeton Review for eight consecutive years.
Dr. Burton specializes in researching and teaching subjects related to virtual reality (VR), game design, and game-based learning. His academic focus includes the metaverse, virtual production, and serious applications for online learning. With over 20 years of experience, he has also authored several textbooks on game and mobile app development, including titles on Unity and Lua, and is currently writing a book on learning in the metaverse.1
