Stillwater Consulting is the creator of the Fire Learning Management System or FLMS. The FLMS is a new e-Training system for firefighters, offering both a training infrastructure, and a learning management tool that tracks and organizes firefighter learner information.

Stillwater utilizes many third party services to maintain low costs and high value for customers. My role is finding, evaluating, integrating and maintaining these services, controlling the outsourced relationships and ensuring uptime and customer expectations of performance and security are met, while managing costs and always looking for a better way to do things.

I consult with the CEO and Developers to map growth in a safe and cost effective manner, while adhering to agile development best practices.

Stillwater introduced the Fire Learning Management System (FLMS) in 2009 as a training content storage and delivery system at New Tecumseth Fire Rescue (NTFR). The Ontario Firefighter Curriculum was converted using simple course templates and NTFR training materials. The FLMS portal quickly evolved from a static library resource to one containing rich and interactive activities such as videos, quizzes, tests, and other web multimedia content.  Instructors were spending less time searching for materials to deliver as courses and material became centralized and easy to find.  

With the change from the Ontario Provincial Firefighter Curriculum to NFPA, the FLMS was enhanced, adding multiple curriculum capability while seamlessly maintaining the lifelong learning records of firefighters.  Learning content is now integrated with a long term records retention and management strategy - the Training and Risk Management Solution (TRMS) feature set.

FLMS continues to evolve and change to meet the needs of an evolving fire service.  With the transition to a new curriculum, FLMS based fire departments have the agility to move smoothly through the transition.

We have shot all over the world, including St.Lucia and the Caribbean, United Kingdom, USA and Canada.
