Hands-on, similar duties to previous position at Oak Park & River Forest High school. Updated aging infrastructure and implemented a technology plan for the 21st century computing environment.  Reduced local software use and moved to 95% web based digital curriculum. Within 4 years, increased computing devices from 200 to over 750.  Converted aging technology to “internet only” stations with the implementation of Ubuntu Linux.   Implemented “green” by tracking all print/copy jobs and converting to digital where appropriate thereby reducing paper waste.  The online calendar system replaced paper and provided for a more accurate schedule. The new enhanced website provides instant information and resources to the users.  Serving as project manager, migrated student management system from SIRS to SchoolLogic in 2010.  Migrated student management system from SchoolLogic to PowerSchool in 2013. Installed Smartboard interactive whiteboards, projectors, wireless keyboards, document cameras and Skype camera technology for every classroom. 

On the server side, migrated aging physical servers to HP servers and virtualized the server environment utilizing Microsoft Hyper-V Technology.  Implemented over 95 Aerohive WIFI access points to saturate three buildings.  Implemented Cisco and HP network switches. For security, implemented Raptor Check-in systems, Avigilon video security system, Motorola wireless communication system and Honeywell Doorcard system.  Supported Nortel CallPilot phone systems.

Hired to implement a complete school network from ground up consisting of Data, Voice and Video. The system networks over 1300 PCs, 200 Macs and 150 network printers. All Classrooms have Internet access, Cable TV, TVs/VCRs and use of classroom computer with Smartboards.  Delivered comprehensive training classes to 400 staff and faculty members.  Other duties included implementation and maintenance of 15 major computer lab centers, hardware/software purchasing, installations, staffing, upgrades, web & E-mail administration, installation and maintenance of 38+ Windows 2003/2008 clustered and virtual servers. Documented systems resources, disaster recovery guides and technology newsletters. Staff management included a Help Desk Assistant, Network Administrator, Technical Trainer, Software/Hardware Technician and 10 part-time student technicians. Maintained web homepage and provided intranet information to students and faculty. To increase security, school security cameras, door card entry systems, firewalls and workstation locks were implemented as part of the network installation. Oak Park & River Forest High School provides the highest quality education to its students by providing technology such as electronic probes in Science labs, latest version of AutoCad to drafting students, utilization of industry standard Microsoft Office 2007 on all computers and new video capture systems in lab PCs to provide for video editing. As department head, the IT team provided on-site support for over 2000 devices and 3800 users as well as off-site support utilizing Virtual Private Networks.

Working solo as coordinator, integrated the entire system for the Village of Glenview.  The system was one of the largest of all Illinois’ towns.  Glenview’s technology grew from 14 computers to over 200; becoming one of the most technically advanced communities.  Annual technology budget was one of the lowest among all comparable towns.  Advancements in the following areas include: Geographic Information Systems, Document Imaging and Retrieval, ISDN WAN Networking, 1 to 1 ratio of computers to desks, World Wide Web Implementation, BBS Systems and Groupwise E Mail to all staff.  Also coordinated with TCI Cable and School District 34 to connect a Wide Area Network utilizing cable TV technology.
