Brenda Behan
Deputy Regional Director, Eastern Africa at World Food Programme
Brenda Behan is an experienced Development and Engineering professional with a strong background in international non-profit organization management. Her skill set includes Community Development, Humanitarian Assistance, Negotiation, Budgeting, Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Engineering, and Operations Management. Brenda pursued her education with a Master's degree in Community and Economic Development from Penn State University, a Master's Certificate in Sustainable Construction from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. She also has a background from Colorado College. Brenda has held several key positions in the World Food Programme, such as Deputy Regional Director, Deputy Regional Director a.i. for East and Central Africa, Senior Deputy Country Director in WFP Kenya, Senior Regional Engineering Officer for East and Central Africa, and Chief of Infrastructure and Facilities Management. Prior to her work at WFP, Brenda served as a Civil/Environmental Engineer in the U.S. Navy.
