Brandon Comer

Brandon L. Comer is the Managing Partner of Comer Capital Group, LLC, an independent financial advisory firm specializing in municipal finance and capital markets.1 He graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and later earned a Master of Liberal Arts in Finance from Harvard University.1

Comer Capital Group, under Brandon's leadership, provides services such as structuring and arranging municipal bonds, financial turnaround for distressed public entities, and capital structure advice for commercial middle market companies.1 The firm has advised on more than $2.7 billion in debt transactions.1

Brandon L. Comer has been involved in initiatives to support black banks and underserved communities. He assisted in creating the National Black Bank Foundation and the Black Bank Fund, which aim to increase capitalization and financial opportunities for black banks.1

However, it's important to note that Brandon L. Comer and Comer Capital Group have faced legal issues. In 2019, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged them with breaching their fiduciary duty in connection with a $6 million municipal bond offering for the Harvey Public Library District in Illinois.23 The SEC alleged that they failed to provide adequate advice on underwriter selection and bond pricing, resulting in unfavorable terms for their client.3 In January 2024, a final judgment was obtained, ordering Comer Capital to pay disgorgement and civil penalties, though the defendants did not admit or deny the allegations.2
