Brandon Hurlbut is a prominent figure with a diverse background in climate policy, finance, technology, advocacy, law, politics, and media. He played vital roles in the Obama Administration, notably as the Chief of Staff at the US Department of Energy and as the President's liaison to energy and environment sectors.
During his tenure, Brandon had significant involvement in various high-profile initiatives and crises, such as managing the $90 billion clean energy investments under the Obama Recovery Act, addressing the Fukushima nuclear accident, handling the Gulf oil spill, and contributing to recovery efforts post-Hurricane Sandy.
Post his public service, Brandon co-established Boundary Stone Partners, a government affairs firm, and currently works as a Senior Advisor to Energy Technology Partners, focusing on investments in renewable energy, power, energy storage, efficiency, and transportation sectors.
Brandon is actively engaged in several boards, including Swell Energy, Sparkfund, Sunrise Movement, and Solutions Project, emphasizing his commitment to residential battery storage development, energy finance, advocating for a Green New Deal, and environmental justice issues.
