Borhene Chakroun
Dr.
Borhene Chakroun is an experienced engineer with a Ph.D. in Education Sciences from Bourgogne University in France.
With a strong background in certification and validation of prior learning, Borhene has held various roles in the field of vocational education and training (VET) since the 1990s.
He has served as a trainer, chief trainer, VET project manager, and has contributed as a short-term consultant for prestigious institutions like the EU, World Bank, and other international organizations.
In 2001, Borhene joined the European Training Foundation (ETF) where he excelled as a Senior Human Capital Development specialist and took the lead as Team leader on the EU funded regional project Education and training for Employment (MEDA-ETE).
Moreover, he played a pivotal role in overseeing the community of practice on National Qualifications Frameworks and Recognition of Qualifications at the ETF.
Currently, Borhene Chakroun serves as the Head of the TVET section at UNESCO, where he is at the forefront of implementing the UNESCO TVET strategy adopted in 2009.
His expertise in education systems and lifelong learning policies makes him a valuable asset as the Director for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems at UNESCO.
